Baghdad Tower represents far more than an architectural structure — it stands as a symbol of the city’s enduring life and urban identity.
Each time the tower is illuminated, it becomes a pulse of light reflecting Baghdad’s spirit and resilience, much like the Tigris River that flows as the city’s lifeline.

Lighting a Landmark of Resilience

Rising 205 meters above the city, Baghdad Tower stands as a symbol of endurance and renewal.
In 2011, its exterior illumination was redesigned to restore presence and pride to the skyline of the Iraqi capital.
The project aimed to celebrate Baghdad’s spirit — a city that never stops shining, even after the darkest nights.

Reviving a Symbol of Hope

The new lighting concept embraced the tower’s architectural rhythm while respecting its national symbolism.
Warm golden tones were used to convey continuity and optimism, transforming the structure into a beacon of hope visible across the city.

Light that Connects the City

More than an icon, the tower became a visual compass for Baghdad.
The illumination gracefully defined the tower’s curves and crown, creating harmony between technology, architecture, and emotion.
Each light beam served as a gesture of connection — between people, memory, and skyline.

Engineering with Emotion

The project balanced technical precision with human feeling.
LED systems were designed for efficiency, durability, and minimal light pollution, preserving the purity of Baghdad’s night sky.
It was not just about visibility, but about presence — light that speaks with quiet strength.

A Vision that Continues

This lighting renewal was designed and led by Eng. Munir Al-Khazraji, now co-founder of Laterna Lighting.
His belief that light can heal and rebuild identity continues to define Laterna’s philosophy — crafting illumination that honors memory while shaping the future.
