Renovation of Queen Aliya Palace
Queen Aliya Palace in Baghdad, one of the city’s most iconic historical landmarks, was once at risk of neglect and commercial exploitation. Through a meticulous restoration project, the palace has been revived and preserved as a cultural treasure.
Modern implemented design and lighting solutions was done using the latest eco-friendly materials that are gentle on the eyes while maintaining the historical integrity of the site. The lighting was not just illumination—it became a tool to revive the palace’s spirit, highlighting its architectural beauty while protecting its authenticity.
Engineer Muneer, a professional lighting designer and heritage preservation expert, led the project. With international training and expertise gained in countries such as the UK, London, and Jordan, he ensured that the lighting design blended seamlessly with the palace’s interior décor, preserving its historic image without altering its original structure.
Today, the palace stands as a cultural and historical destination, featuring a museum and a restaurant—where the past and present harmoniously meet.
